Event Report: Star City VFD Brewfest

We had a great time at this years Star City Volunteer Fire Department's (VFD) Brewfest near Morgantown WV.  It was the 2nd year for this festival and the first time we participated.

We took 5 beer styles (Long Point Lager, Bridge Brew Ale, Black Lager, IPA, Dunkle Weizen).  There were an estimated 66 beers on tap with 22 of them being brewed in Wild Wonderful West Virginia!  This event is destined to grow and pull in more beer offerings and bands.  Besides it helps a great cause and a fun event.

We would like to thank the VFD for inviting us and would like to thank all the great people that came out to help the VFD and enjoy the music and beer offerings.

It was great to see people that we hadn't seen in a while and to hang out with the other brewers in the state.  We would like to thank the homebrewers club (West Virginia Craft Brewer's Society) who had volunteers pouring beer and interacting with the folks - they even had two homebrewing demonstrations - one for malt extract brewing and one for all grain brewing.  We are sure there will be increased interest in the great hobby of homebrewing as a result.  We would like to thank Travis Carrow  (West Virginia Craft Beer Appreciation Society) for all of his planning and hard work to help the WV brewers and to pull off a large and very successful event.

The VFD has tentative plans to have another brewfest in the fall, maybe in October so we suggest staying in touch, we will make announcements concerning where we will be.
